Full bathroom installation in Ascot
Ascot is racecourse country, and the housing that has grown up around it over the last century — large detached Victorian and Edwardian houses, inter-war family homes, and more recent executive-style builds on generous plots, particularly towards Sunningdale and Windsor — tends to give us room to work properly. A full bathroom installation means taking a room back to brick and rebuilding it from scratch: new waste and supply pipework, tanking, tiling, electrics and ventilation, finished with the suite you've chosen. On Ascot's larger plots, that rebuild rarely runs into the structural limits a smaller house would impose.
What's included in a full installation
A full bathroom installation is a different job to an en-suite fit, a wet room conversion or swapping out a single fixture. We strip the room back to the studwork and floor joists, remove the old suite and tiling entirely, and rebuild from there: repositioning or renewing waste and supply pipework, fitting new tanking to wet areas, running first-fix electrics for extraction and lighting, then tiling floor to ceiling where specified before second-fixing the suite you've sourced — bath, shower enclosure, basin, WC, taps and furniture — and snagging it in. It's the job to choose when a bathroom needs more than redecorating: when the layout no longer works, the waterproofing has failed, or you're combining fixtures that weren't there before.
What Ascot's housing stock means for the rebuild
Much of Ascot's housing sits on generous plots — large detached Victorian and Edwardian houses nearer the racecourse, inter-war family homes, and executive-style builds further out towards Sunningdale and Windsor. That scale generally gives us far more freedom on layout than a terraced or semi-detached property would. Relocating a waste run to put a bath under a window instead of against an internal wall, widening a doorway for level access, or repositioning a shower to use a different wall for drainage rarely runs into the structural limits a smaller property would present. It doesn't remove the need for a proper survey — floor joist direction and existing soil pipe routes still dictate what's realistic — but it does mean more of what you want on paper tends to be buildable.
How the job runs, start to finish
Every full installation starts with a paid £125 survey, which is where we confirm pipe routes, joist direction, electrics and exactly what the strip-out will involve before any price is fixed. From there the sequence is strip-out, first-fix plumbing and electrics, tanking, tiling, second-fix, and snagging. Because you're sourcing the suite, tiles, and brassware yourself, we'll agree a delivery schedule with you so materials are on site when each trade needs them — there's little point tiling before the shower tray has arrived. Ventilation and electrics are installed to current Part P and Part F requirements throughout, and on a full rebuild that usually means a new extraction run as well as rewired lighting and shaver points.
Ready to get a full bathroom installation under way
If you're planning a full bathroom installation in Ascot, the next step is the £125 survey — call or WhatsApp 07399 651836 and we'll get a date in the diary. Full installations start from £3,500 depending on scope, and because we're fit-only, you stay in control of the products while we handle everything from strip-out to final snag.
Frequently asked questions
Most full installations take two to three weeks from strip-out to snagging, depending on the size of the room and whether we're rerouting waste or supply pipework. Larger Ascot properties with bigger bathrooms or en-suite combinations can run longer — we'll give you a realistic programme after the survey.
You don't need everything on site on day one, but we'll agree a delivery schedule at survey stage so key items — the shower tray, bath, and tiles especially — arrive in time for each stage. We're fit-only, so sourcing sanitaryware, brassware, tiles and furniture is down to you.
On Ascot's larger properties we can usually reposition waste runs, move a shower to a different wall, or widen a doorway without hitting structural limits. It depends on existing floor joist direction and soil pipe routes, which is exactly what the survey confirms before we price the job.
We don't source sanitaryware, tiles, brassware or furniture — that's on you. We also don't do cosmetic regrouting as a standalone job. Everything from strip-out through plumbing, tiling, electrics and snagging of your chosen suite is included.
